Neshetta LaJoyce Palmer-Godlock, respectfully known as “Joyce” was born to Shirley Ann Harris Stewart and Abron T. Palmer on November 17, 1972, in Gilmer, TX. Joyce was educated in the Gilmer Independent School District, and she was a graduate of the Class of 1991. Joyce was a star athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track. She and others record in track that held for 13 years.
Joyce accepted Christ at an early age at Gilgal Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Robert Soloman.
Joyce was loved by many. Her friends and family will miss her dearly. She loved making people laugh and was always the life of the party. She would always say, “A good, cooked meal while the Cowboys playing makes a great day.” Joyce was a woman of many talents.
Her mother Shirley Ann Harris-Stewart, brother Edward B. Stewart Jr. along with a host of aunts and uncles preceded Joyce in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, Husband Fred Godlock (Dallas, TX), Father Abron T. Palmer of Gilmer; stepfather, Edward Stewart (Glenda) of Tyler, TX; her loving four children, LaReisha Thomas (Darrell) of Longview, TX, Trevaron Johnson of Longview, TX, Annecia Palmer of Killeen, TX and Joycelynn Godlock of Odessa, TX; her siblings, Tammy Harris-Jones (Bernard) of Gilmer, TX, Douglas Stewart (Kylie) of Tyler, TX, Tiffany Roe (Scott) of Corydon, IN and Abron Palmer Gilmer, TX; one loving grandchild, Ms. Aliyah Janae Johnson; aunts, Mary Jones of Gilmer, TX and Ann Palmer Barnett of Longview, TX; extended family, Gwendolyn Johnson, Brandon Robertson, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends
