Melvin Anthony Thomas

Service for Melvin A.Thomas will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Temple of Longview eith Rev.Kelvin Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Cartersville Cemetery Under the caring hands of Bigham Mortuary Mr.Thomas died Tuesday June 3,2014 in a local hospital. Melvin was born to the late Aeculious and Annie Pearl in Hallsville,Texas, He attended and graduated from Galilee High School.at a early age in life he excepted the lord as his personal savior and united with the church of Christ. Melvin work for the City of Longview Sanitation Department and later Cecil B.Ingram Construction. On June 11,1965 he met the love of his life and united in Holy matrimony to Laverne Fite and to this union seven children was born.Later in life he married Mary Kay Johnson. His fond memories will be cherish by his wife Mary Kay Thomas;Mother Annie Pearl Johnson;daughters;Melvin Sue Thomas,Zipora Hale and Joynella Thomas.Sons;Kelvin A.Thomas,Arculious R.Thomas(Claudette),De'Mario Thomas and Ja'Mario Thomas(Heather). Step children;David Koel,ThomasR.Haggerty,Verlinda Koel,Sheila Beechman.Brothers;Richard E.Thomas(Gloria),Fredrick Thomas,Tommy Thomas(Dorothy).Sister;Theresa Williams(Roscoe).A special Aunt Letha M.Goffney.13 grandchildren,9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins and many friends.
