It is with great sadness that the family announces the departure of Loyd Daniel Amerson on July 27th, 2025, at the age of 70. He is welcomed home by his mother Vonnie Amerson and Father Loyd Amerson, and older sister Kathy Stewart. Daniel was born July 21st, 1955, in El Paso Texas.
On November 14th, 1975, he married his sweetheart Mary Mitzi Lee (Trujillo) Amerson and welcomed three children into the world.
He is survived and always remembered and loved by his wife Mary Amerson and his first-born Nathaniel Amerson, second born and first daughter Alysia Amerson, and his youngest daughter Christina (Amerson) Sandefur and husband Henry Sandefur, along with his two grandchildren, Hemi and Riley Sandefur, his sister Teresa Gallagher, and countless more family and friends. Daniel never found a task he could not tackle, or a battle too difficult to fight. He never met a stranger and left a legacy to love your neighbor. Daniel loved to collect trinkets even as a youngster, and he would always have just the right thing at moments notice; from rocks to tools, stashed away in a pocket. This is where he got his nickname “Pockets.” He loved his family fiercely and taught them to always remember no matter what you go through, never forget to love.
Psalm 23; The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.4 Yea., though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.5.Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
