James Cody Lollar "46"

James Cody Lollar was a devoted father, a husband, a brother, an artist, and a friend to many.

His voice is eternal.

Through his music he challenged himself to progress beyond the parameters and preconceived notions of others, commanded a unique space in an industry that rarely grants exceptions, and innovated a new genre that, as of yet, refuses a single tag.

His music has escaped the box of labels and limitations, just as he did.

His energy lives on in quieter places.

His two daughters carry his loving energy forward, not a reflection, a distinct continuation of the best parts of him, a progression, an evolution.

Cody’s oldest daughter bears her father’s artistic aptitude, affinity for introspection, and gentle spirit.

Cody’s youngest daughter embodies her father’s penchant for questioning the universe, passion for reading and science, and an unwavering drive to challenge the status quo.

In life and death, Cody reminds us to be authentically ourselves, to recognize the importance of community and mental health, and to revolt against oppression at every opportunity
