Jack Charles Evans

Jack Charles Evans, born January 10, 1948, in Gardena, California passed away on November 5, 2024.

 He is survived by his children, Krystle Johnston of Hallsville, Texas, and Christopher Evans of Winter Park, Florida. 

Those close to Charlie called him Fella, a loving nickname his mother, Byrda Jean Webber Evans, gave him. Charlie grew up in Gardena, California, where he was an outstanding high school football player. Charlie played for the University of Southern California and eventually went on to play in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants. He eventually had to retire due to injuries. Charlie was also a participant in the NFL’s study of concussions on professional athletes and donated his brain for further research. 

Charlie will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by so many of his family and friends.
