Craig Wayne Mundt "71'

A Private Service for Craig W. Mundt, 71, who passed from this life into the presence of his Savior on Monday, July 20, 2026 at his home in Longview, Texas, will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 4:00pm in the home of his sister, J. Mundt.

Officiating will be Pastor Mike Vinson, who Craig has known since 1968.

Craig was born November 13, 1954 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Roy A. and Annelle Mundt.

He attended elementary school in Wichita Falls, then attended private school in east Texas near Longview through high school.

He was very popular in high school because he was consistently the top scorer for his school's basketball team. But, he was also very popular because he was a true friend to each and every fellow student who befriended Craig (which were most all of the students there).

And he could repair any of the small mechanical or electrical items we had available at that time from lawn mowers to basic plumbing and basic electrical repairs, bicycles, auto repair, power tools, small engine repairs. His teachers in high school all appreciated that if the Slide Projector Canister malfunctioned, Craig could always get it running again, saving many service calls for repairs.

Craig was a Jack of all trades; master of all.

After High School, he worked as a brick layer in Longview and Tyler, and became a sought-out Master Brick layer because people wanted the lovely brick-laying patterns he designed.

After his wife became a R.N., and they moved to Garland, Texas for her work, Craig gradually began to work more and more in Elderly Care Homes with his wife because it was observed that Craig had a natural gift for caring for the elderly residents with his patience and listening skills; he also could do many of the building/ mechanical/ electrical/ and plumbing repairs needed, again saving many plumbing, electrical, and mechanical service calls. He was appreciated there.

Craig also had the skill of growing the best-tasting tomatoes we ever ate.

Just with 6-10 tomato plants Craig could produce a bumper crop of delicious red-ripe tomatoes.

Friends and neighbors would have gladly paid him money for the tomatoes.

But, Craig would never accept payment because it gave him so much joy knowing

and seeing how much people appreciated Craig's tomatoes.

Craig will be remembered for being a blessing to many people, for his generous heart, for his eagerness to be helpful to others at every opportune moment, and for being a loyal friend and family member.

May Craig rest in eternal peace.

As we bid farewell to a beloved brother and friend, may we carry forward his

spirit of generosity, compassion, and unwavering faith in Christ.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Judy Mundt.

Survivors include his other sister, J. Mundt, and a whole host of other relatives and friends.

His family loved him. And Craig will be greatly missed, and eternally remembered .
