Chris Nyle Phillips, born September 6, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, passed away on July 10, 2026, in Longview, Texas. He was 68 years old.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Frances “Jackie” Phillips and Emmet Phillips, and by his brother, Dennis Green.

He was a beloved son, uncle, nephew, and friend to many. Chris had a quiet way of making people feel seen and cared for. His presence was steady, his kindness sincere, and his loyalty unwavering.

Chris graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1976, where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. He attended East Texas State University 1976 to 1978. He followed many paths after high school, including photography, factory work, a pressure-washing business, and even painting parking lot stripes. He eventually found his niche in the electrical and mechanical repair field, where he enjoyed a long career and formed many friendships.

He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, a place that grounded him in faith and community.

Chris leaves behind family and friends who will forever cherish his memory, his gentle humor, resilience, and the quiet beauty of a good man’s legacy.
