Gary William Cunningham, 58, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2020 in Longview, Texas. Gary was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Will Cunningham, Jr. and Sandy Cunningham on September 24, 1962. As his father was in the U.S. Air Force, he lived in Iowa and the Philippines before coming to Texas, where his father retired from the Air Force at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls. He then moved to Duncanville, Texas with his family, where he went to school and graduated from Duncanville High School in 1981. Gary worked in construction for several years in Colorado and California, before returning to Texas. He married Tammie Thrailkill in Dallas in 1994, and they had two children, Taylor and Carson. He loved animals, the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and he loved his country. He is preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his children, Taylor Cunningham of Dallas and Carson Cunningham of Frisco; his ex-wife, Tammie Cunningham of Dallas; his sister, Terri Freer of Weatherford and her husband, Tim; and his nephew, Ryan Willmon and wife Jennifer Brennan of Frisco. Arrangements have been by Bigham Funeral Home in Longview. There will be a private family memorial. Memorials may be given in Gary’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the SPCA.
